In this article, I will:
What is this thing, an aura? Humans and all living matter have them. To start, here are some definitions:
"A luminous radiation that emanates from all living matter; a distinctive atmosphere surrounding a given source; also, a subtle sensory stimulus.”-Rosalyn L. Bruyere, Wheels of Light
"...a multilayered sphere of energy that emanates from your body and interacts with the atmosphere of the Earth.”-Donna Eden and David Feinstein, Energy Medicine
As Dolores Krieger says, “We don’t stop at our skin.” Your human aura, or electromagnetic field, or human energy field, surrounds you and is an extension of you. It gives you a way to interface with/expand your awareness of energies beyond your physical body.
Through this interfacing, you receive information in the form of intuitive/ psychic energy. Then you interpret it in your own unique way.
My article about types of psychic abilities describes these ways, so you can determine the way or ways you most often tend to receive/interpret this intuitive information.
Let’s say, for example, that you receive and interpret intuitive information the most readily in a visual way (clairvoyantly). You may then have an easier time learning how to see the human aura (or plant or other auras!). If you were most likely to be clairsentient, you would more easily have a feeling-sense of the energy while reading a human aura.
Speaking of seeing auras, another interesting way to "do" this is through Kirlian photography. With this specialized tool, a visual color representation of your aura is created, usually with contact of your fingertip or hand onto the film. It has been used diagnostically in research and the health care to demonstrate energy blockages, flow, and changes, including how effective different health/healing treatments are, with before and after pictures.
In this famous formula, Albert Einstein demonstrates that all matter is congealed energy. That would include everyone’s bodies, the objects we live with, our planet and all of its creatures and forms, and celestial bodies beyond Earth.
Actually, everything, including matter as per Einstein, is made up of energy. So our bodies are made up of energy, and this energy is continuous with the energy of our human aura. Beyond our human aura, the “space” and all other matter is also energy.
So as you reach “out” with your skilled, clear intuitive awareness, you are able to receive and perceive energetic information about whatever you purely place your focus and intention upon.
With vibrational energy healing, practitioners use their intuitive energy awareness to also encourage energy balance in their clients. Balanced energy flows and resonates with well-being. Unbalanced energy leads to dis-ease.
Quantum physics calls the continuous, intelligent sea of energy the “unified field”. Consciously accessing this field is a means to connect intuitively with everything-when you can open yourself fully to the experience.
Opening yourself to this experience more and more involves carefully, intuitively choosing your mental focus as much as you can in each moment.
All forms of fear constrict your ability to perceive and experience in a more expanded way. And all forms of pure love increase your ability to perceive and experience in a more expanded way. We want to have clear energy, free from limiting thoughts and beliefs and feelings as much as possible, to have a clear “lens” of perception.
Developing intuition is this process of opening to experiencing more and more of ourselves in the “unified field”, which could also be called the energy of our Source, Source energy.
So, what are energy or acupuncture meridians and chakras, and how do they relate to the human aura?
Let’s start with chakras. Chakra is a Sanskrit word that literally means “wheel of light”. It is generally agreed that there are 7 major, primary chakras and 122 secondary, smaller chakras throughout your body.
“A chakra is a chamber in the temple of the body that receives, assimilates, and transmits life force energy.“
Your primary 7 chakras are seen clairvoyantly as spinning vortexes of energy lined up along the midline of your body. The secondary 122 chakras are found wherever your joints are throughout your body.
The locations of your primary 7 chakras are:
Chakras have different possible colors or combinations of colors (including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, and white), sizes and shapes, spin and rotation direction, and intensity (which relates to the “openness” of the chakra).
You receive vibrational intuitive/ psychic energy differently through your different chakras, because each chakra resonates vibrationally with specific energetic information. And you may tend to interpret your experience more through certain chakras, and not so much through others.
So, for example, if you are having a lot of fear about your well-being or survival, your root or first chakra may not be spinning freely, and may benefit from being "opened".
Opening chakras would mean correcting and strengthening the energy flow and spin within your chakras. If you can see or sense intuitively the energy flow of chakras, it is clockwise-spinning (from a view above the body) strongly when "open".
This opening is done with many techniques. It can include direct manipulation of the energy, using your hands and directing energy with visualization and focused intention, or with focused intention alone (which could include a transmission of energy from the therapist's chakra to the client's).
The opened chakras then have heightened intuitive reception capability. So in the case of opening your first chakra, you would then not have the survival fears, and would be more aware of evidence of your natural well-being in your life.
Another energy system affecting the state of well-being of your body, mind and spirit are the energy meridians, also called acupuncture meridians.
They are 14 physically-based pathways carrying energy to every organ in your body (as the chakras do, but in a different way.)
The names of the 14 meridians are:
These energy meridians, or acupuncture meridians, create energy “roadways” where the “cities” or points along the way are acupuncture points.
Intentionally stimulating these points on the surface of the skin (in acupuncture with needle insertion or burning moxa, in acupressure with applying direct sustained pressure or tapping on the spot, or with focused intention alone), enhances the energy flow throughout the meridian. And this in turn enhances your overall well-being.
The human aura contains the energies of both the chakras and the meridians. And all of your energy systems are influenced by your thoughts and feelings.
“Every thought you have impacts you. By shifting in the middle of a weakening thought to one that strengthens, you raise your vibration and strengthen yourself and the immediate energy field.“
~Wayne Dyer (more energy field quotes)
Isn’t it wonderful to know that you can easily enhance your energetic well-being (which means all of you, since all of you is energy!)by choosing to think positive thoughts and to be happy! Happy is your natural vibrational state and allowing this is the best health boost there is!
So, how do you increase your energy awareness?
Regular meditation in some form would be my first recommendation. Meditation redirects your mind’s focus. It helps you to perceive more subtle information (including energetic information) beyond the repetitive thoughts the mind wants to run. Like daydreaming, but you choose the focus.
Giving yourself opportunities to slow down and pay greater attention to your body and what it is telling you is also important. Your body, made of intelligent energy, always has lots to tell you!
So this could include asking yourself what your body is needing throughout the day - food, drink, movement, pleasure, rest? Your answers may come in many ways - through gut feelings, a mental image, an inner voice, a physical energetic sensation, or in other ways unique to you.
To receive more specific information about your body, you might
also want to try doing a body scan. In a body scan meditation, you close
your eyes and systematically focus on each part of your body. You
simultaneously tune in to your intuition and notice what information you
get, in whatever way your intuition "speaks" to you.
“Be at least as interested in what goes on inside you as what happens outside.
If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place.“
Sensations in your body are related to what is happening in your human aura and other energy systems. Pain, for example, is a restriction in the energy that is also related to thoughts/beliefs/feelings you hold - also energy.
I love Louise L. Hay’s book, You Can Heal Your Life, with the chart in the back that describes connections between body parts you are having problems with, your beliefs, and affirmations that can help shift the beliefs and the problem. I would recommend that you first ask your body intuition for this information, and then check out her chart. Always trust your clear intuition, the best authority on you, first!
Although your human aura connects you with all other energies, you can have a sense of energetic boundaries. For example, when you are in a crowd, you may have a comfort level with how close you stand to other people.
Let’s say we’re talking about strangers, because those you are more intimate with you will naturally be more comfortable getting closer to. But with strangers, say in a subway, you may have a 2 foot zone around yourself, your aura, and prefer not to have those strangers come into that zone. This distance can be different from person to person, culture to culture, and even vary for each person throughout the day.
Grounding or how grounded in your body you feel is another consideration with energy awareness. “In electrical engineering, ground or earth may be the reference point in an electrical circuit from which other voltages are measured, or a common return path for electric current, or a direct physical connection to the Earth.” (From www.en.wikipedia.org)
Grounding with regard to your body is similar to grounding in electrical engineering, because your body is energetically connected to the Earth, too. Increased awareness and intention of your Earth connection can help you have better awareness, presence and energy flow throughout your body. And again, with better energy flow comes greater well-being.
You can also feel more or less connected to what some call cosmic energy, energy beyond your aura boundaries. Expanding your energetic awareness and intention “outward and upward” to include cosmic energy as well as Earth energy can feel balancing and empowering.
When you listen to your intuition about what you need to do to feel good, it's about balancing your energy systems. When you then take that inspired action, you are allowing your natural well-being.
You don’t need to earn well-being. It’s already yours, your birthright, an energetic aspect of who you are.
It’s about lining yourself up with the bigger energy YOU in Spirit. And bringing that BIG LOVE experience into your everyday experience.
I’ve come up with a list of ways you can help balance your energy systems overall, including your human aura, chakras, and meridians.
The thing is, for your full empowerment, it is important to check in with your intuition first. Follow your guidance about what would help you feel even better than you feel now. Allow your way toward feeling better, better, and the best you can possibly feel in each moment.
Here is a list to run by your intuition:
Do you have anything to add to this list? Please send your ideas to me!
I hope you are coming away from this article with a better sense of yourself energetically, including your human aura, chakras and energy meridians. You are made of energy, through and through, and are connected through energy to everything in existence! Talk about a world-wide web!!
Be the BIG LOVE you are!
